Magnetism

this week in inquiry I learned about magnetism. I learnt that magnets gets pulled to this rock called a lodestone.

The first thing I did was complete the sentences using the word bank at the bottom of the page.

The next thing I did was show which way the magnets went. For example the North pole will connect to a South Pole but not another North pole.

After that I had to find a picture for each word and copy and paste a definition of the word by the word.

Then I did a word search of all the words to do with magnetism.

Finally I made a poster explaining what I learnt and what Magnetism is.

Gravity

This week for Inqury my class are learning about gravity. My table were tasked with answering the question: Why do you feel heavier on Earth than you would on the Moon.

Our answers were:

Blake: You feel lighter on the moon because the moon is smaller and if an object is small the the gravitational pull will be less powerful.

Kendric: because on the moon there is zero gravity but on earth there is gravity. 

Kaleb: Because moon is smaller it has a smaller gravitational pull than the earth because if something is smaller then it will have less of a gravitational pull

Jeremiah:You Weigh six times less on the moon because the moon has a gravitational pull of cause earth’s moon has less mass than earth has.

Roman: Because on the moon the gravitational force is different because the moon doesn’t have anything to do with the atmosphere. 

Donyal: The moon is smaller than the earth because the moon is weaker because the gravity pulls you.

Dancing Raisins

This week in inquiry we have been learning about kitchen cemistry the task I had to complete was where I had to write about the experiment we did as a class. The experiment was dancing raisins it is when you put raisin in a carbornated liquid the raisins bounce.

First I wrote what my porpouse was, it was to’ Observe the behaviour of raisins in a carbonated liquid” and I also wrote what materials that you would need for the experiment. First you need a clear jar, Sprite, Raisins & Cashew (optional)

Then I wrote what the Procedure was it was, Pour the sprite into the jar

Add the raisins  Put the cashews in to the sprite

Wait and see what happens

After that I predicted what would happen and finally I did the experiment
