How to add Decimals

This week in math I have been learning about Decimals and how to add them.

My first task was to complete a warm up task, the warm up task was to add up decimals like the example I did.

My second task was to do a paper work – sheet. It was the same as the work – sheet but just more and a lot harder.

My final task was to write how to add decimals. Here is my example.

Figure it out gala slides – 2

For Maths we learned did word problems that relates to the gala. The Gala is when schools raise funds to buy more equipment for the school.

This week the first thing that I did was start off where I left off from last week. (The slide was slide 9)

Ths first task was to times all the ingredents used to make the fudge on the slide (Terrific treats) by 2. If normaly be 75 grams of dark chocolate it would now be 150 grams of dark chocolate.

My next task was to do the exact same thing but timing it by 20 now.  below that I had determin how many peices of fugde there is by timing the sides together.

My final task was make a net of paper and turn it into a box.

I enjoyed this task because I got to use my paper and cutting ability.

I need to work on timsing the sides of the shapes together.

I improved on timsing the ingredents by 20.

Word problems

This week I have been revising word problems so my maths group made a bunch of word problems that I have solved some were too hard for me and some were too easy. Our task was to write our own math word problems and put our hardest on to a slide.

A few of the questions were If I have 300 Basketballs and I times it by 32. How many basketballs do I have now? And my answer was 9600.

If you want to try it for your self press on this link. here is my work.

Explaining fractions

This week we have been learning how to explain fractions like teach it. I made the DLO to show what fractions are.

fractions are built up of 2 things the firat thing is the top number is how many pieces or numbers there are, that is called the denominator and the bottum number is what pieces are being used or shaded that is called the numerator.

A way you can remember this is by thinking denominator down. Here is my work

Fractions

This week in math I have been learnig about teaching fractions, I know what fractions are so all I need to do is teach them in this blog post.

First I mde the title and choose a picture that would be easy to use in fractins.

Next I wrote the fraction a made my image look like to and then I discrided why I put those 2 random numbers in a fraction.

After that I made a way that you can remember which part of the fraction is the denominator, Denominator Down.

Fianly I wrote a blog post explaining what I did.

Anzac Food Measuring

Today, I answered and complete a task where I had to measure the wieght of the food that the anzac soldiers ate in world war 1.

First, I started by measuring the wieght of a hardtack biscuit, it is 453.592  g and in pounds it is 1 ld. Then, I found out how much vitemins there are in the food. There are 0.4 g carbs, 0 fat and 0 protein. After that, I measured the weight of bacon it is 4 ozs and 113.398 g. Then I search for how much protien the food had. It has 0 carbs, 0 and 3.5 g fat. Soon after, I measured the weight of chesse, tea, marmalde, jam, sugar and salt all with similar carbs, fat and protien.

I enjoyed this task because I got to imagen what it would be like to be an anzac soldier and what they would have aten. I need to work on my measuring and defferint types of measurment.
